What you need to know.
Mediscreen Clinic is owned and operated by your GP's and has proudly been a part of the Boroondara community for the last 30 years. Your general practitioners, practice staff and allied health professionals are dedicated to providing quality care for our community.
Mediscreen offers all appointment types such as in person appointments, telehealth, Home visits, nursing home visits and walk-ins. Home Visits and Nursing home visits may be arrnged with your preferred GP depening on their availability
Reception
Our reception staff will be happy to assist you with any queries. Please be aware that during busy periods, response time may be longer. Your patience during these times is appreciated. Our staff will always treat you with respect and we require the same from you to ensure satisfactory resolution of your queries.


Telephone calls
A Telehealth appointmet can be booked with your preferred doctor at a time they have an available apoinemnt. These Telehealth appointments are regarded as a consultation so may attract a consultaion fee. You must of attended the clinic within the last 12 months in order to attract a Medicare rebate. Your doctor may choose to request an in person consult instead of a telephone call. Informed consent is always obtained when conducting telehealth consultations.
Reminder system
Mediscreen has an electronic reminder system. This allows us to ensure you take preventative measure with your health via regular check-ups. We will send you a letter to remind you when you are due for immunisations, pap smears, blood tests etc. If you would prefer not to be a part of this system, please notify reception.


Electronic Communication
Communication with our patients via electronic means (such as Email SMS and Fax) is conducted with the utmost regard to privacy. Our practice's primary reason for communicating electronically is for recalls and reminders. You may also like to communicate with us electronically via Email. Private and confidential information may be sent via email in an encrypted manner.
Medical Reports
Insurance, licence or pre-employment medicals can be performed at the surgery. Please notify reception when making an appointment if you require a medical report as this will require a longer consultation in most cases.


Results
You will be contacted if any follow up appointment is required regarding your pathology results. Alternatively, you may arrange an appointment with your doctor to discuss your results in detail. Please keep in mind that most results can take 1 - 7 days.

Your Privacy
Your medical records are electronic and only accessible by our staff. Release of this record requires a written authorisation from the patient. A $20.00 administration fee will be charged (fee not rebateable through Medicare). A full copy of our privacy policy is available from our reception staff.
Your privacy is also maintained by only including relevant medical information to other medical providers in third party correspaondance
