Dr Shirley Chu is the Principal Doctor for Mediscreen Clinic and has worked here for more than 20 years.She is very dedicated to her patients and has a special interest in primary care across all ages. She is particularly interested in Women's Health. From teenagers, through motherhood, to post-menopausal care. She takes great pride and pleasure in developing long term relationships with her patients. Dr Chu also enjoys giving back to the medical community by teaching students from Melbourne University and supervising many GP registrars.
Dr. Cathy is a compassionate General Practitioner who graduated from the University of Melbourne and brings over a decade of medical experience to her practice. She provides comprehensive care for patients of all ages, with special interests in pediatrics, dermatology, women’s health. Dr. Cathy holds a Diploma of Child Health and has a keen focus on general dermatology, particularly in skin cancer detection and management. She has earned the Certificate of Dermoscopy and the Certificate of Skin Cancer Medicine from the Skin Cancer College Australasia.Additionally, she is trained in anti-wrinkle injections. Dr Cathy is trained in laser and needle acupuncture, and Implanon insertion. With a warm and empathetic demeanour Dr. Cathy is dedicated to offering specialized,evidence-based care to enhance her patients' overall health and well-being.
Dr Avi has many areas of interest including General Family Health, Travel Health and Childhood Immunisations, Skin Mole checks/Dermatology and Allergies. He happily performs small surgical procedures in the clinic such as skin lesion/mole removals.Avi also takes great pleasure in teaching medicine and will often have students from Monash University observing his practice. He studied in India, England and Australia graduating in 1991. He can also speak Hindi.
Dr Dunitha Jayasinghe graduated from Monash University and is a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Dr Jayasinghe has been a GP for over fourteen years with hospital experience in areas of general medicine, surgery, obstetrics, gynaecology, paediatrics, psychiatry, geriatrics and emergency medicine.She has had varied general practice experience including country Victoria and the inner eastern suburbs. She has an interest in all areas of general practice, particularly women’s and men’s health, paediatrics, routine childhood immunisation and basic travel advice.
Dr Jeanette has an interest in women’s health, STI’s and whole family health. She has experience working with paediatrics, women's health and childhood immunisations.She graduated from Melbourne University in 2003. She has basic abilities speaking mandarin.
Dr Tony graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1978 and has been working as a family practitioner in the Glen Iris / Malvern area for 30 years. He graduated with postgraduate studies in Family Medicine and Obstetrics.He now maintains an interest in all areas of Men’s and Women’s health and preventative health.
Julian is a Melbourne local who has been a member of the Mediscreen Team since 2020. He graduated from Monash University in 2015 and spent his subsequent years working at various health networks before entering General Practice. Julian enjoys all aspects of general medicine but has special interests in paediatrics, geriatrics, sport medicine and preventative health.
When not at work, Julian loves travelling and spending time with his family. He can often be found running in his spare time in one of his many, many running shoes. Julian also is an avid sports fan including AFL, soccer and cricket. Unfortunately, he is a long suffering Essendon supporter. He also enjoys finding new places to eat and travel to!

I completed my medical degree at the University of Melbournein 2019 after completing my Bachelor of Science at the University of Aucklandin 2015. I then worked as a junior doctor at Monash Health and am completed my GP training in early 2025.
My special interests include mental health, women’s health and student health.
When I am not working you will find me at home gaming, dreaming up my next DIYproject or bothering my cat.
